The Paradise Comics Appraisal Process
- Reviewing the Collection: We evaluate your collection's titles' rarity, popularity, and demand. Issues number, condition, and significance (e.g first appearances or origin stories are the most sought after), Comics published between 1938 and 1985 are the most valuable.
- Grading Non-Encapsulated Comics: Each comic is meticulously assessed for centerfold and page quality, cover condition (creases, tears, wear), spine condition (rolls, creases) corners (wears, creases) staples (rust, missing) paper quality (yellowing, brittleness). With all comic issues, higher grades command a higher value.
- Assessing Market Value: Using market analysis industry standards GPAnalysis® to determine market trends and evaluate the collection's current market value (CMV). Paradise Comics, an affiliate of GPAnalysis®. We are the first Canadian brick-and-mortar store trusted since 2002, providing live listings and recorded sales data contributing to the census.
- Documenting the Appraisal: Comic book title, issue number, Current market value (USD), and pertinent notes are recorded. Encapsulated comics are also reviewed on GPAnalysis® and included with barcode number.
- Receiving Your Appraisal: Documentation meets compliance with industry regulations for tax, and inheritance purposes. Reliable documentation for insurance policyholders.
